Claudia Elisabeth Vollert 97 PT (1975–2023)
Claudia Elisabeth Vollert 97 PT passed away in February 2023. In addition to her works in painting, sculpture and installation, she was well-respected as a curator, having founded and directed La Otra Festival & Biennial in Colombia, South America and many other shows. She was in Bard's CCS program when she fell ill and passed suddenly. As an activist, she founded Colombia Humana and stewarded nodes across South and Central America. In late October, she organized an inaugural cultural event in New York City to welcome the first Afro-female vice president of Colombia.
