Craft is Political

D Wood MFA 00 FD

D Wood MFA 00 FD publishes book "Craft is Political" featuring 17 essays from scholars and artists around the world who consider craft in a political context.

D. Wood's MFA 00 FD time at RISD  prompted their writing career. The first story accepted for publication was creative non-fiction written for a Wintersession course: the publisher was Gourmet. The second article was about a classmate in a graduate seminar that appeared in Fiberarts and Surface Design Journal.

She has since written over 100 artist profiles and exhibition reviews in an international roster of magazines and journals, including excerpts from her PhD thesis about furniture and craft in New Zealand. Her latest publication is "Craft is Political" (Bloomsbury Visual Arts, 2021).
