Alum's gift to Whitney Museum will expand accessibility
A significant gift to the Whitney Museum by Julie Mehretu MFA 97 PT/PR will help the museum to realize its “Free 25 and Under” program aimed at increasing access to those under 25.
Mehretu hopes her gift will encourage students and others to explore the museum’s collections, saying in a statement, “You can’t have any conversations around diversity, equity and inclusion without providing access, and the culture can’t change and it can’t continue to grow without new and diverse voices having access to the culture being created at the moment” (Credit: Whitney Museum Press Release).
