"Wheel of Fortune"
"Coming up in this month I am exhibiting work at the best place in the whole wide world: The Providence Public Library."
"Wheel of Fortune" is a site-specific installation by Eli Kauffman 22 PT, exploring the intimacies of rest and labor through tender, colorful scenes. Life sized paintings explore the breadth and intensity of young adulthood, through self betterment and collective perseverance. These works are painted from scenery and artifacts specific to my community, revisiting moments that feel profound in daily life.
This show will be on view beginning September 13, and will hang through the Fall. You are invited to the opening reception on September 23, from 5-6:30 pm. The installation is located on the ground floor, and in the Updike Room on the 3rd floor. I am so grateful to Rhode Island State Council of the Arts for funding the creation of some of the larger paintings in this exhibition.
