RISD Roomates
Attending RISD was a life-changing experience, beginning in September of 1960 when we met and began our impactful art education sharing a small room in Nickerson Hall. It was from there that we worked, and studied, and each found a sense of belonging to a community of fellow artists. The classes we attended together were revelatory, and instrumental to our growth and development into the artists we became – together we imagined the future and began our identities as women artists, when that was not an easy path. We were reminiscing recently about the dramatic, never-to-be-forgotten “Frazier Drawing’ classes! Do others remember? And “Mazur Drawing” too! Freshman Foundation was so exciting and we loved every bit of it!
Now, after graduating in 1964, and in spite of the many passing years and physical distances, we are still connected in a close relationship, encompassing all the challenges and experiences of our lives as artists. We continue working, and communicating our ideas in an ageless and timeless friendship that began at RISD!THANK YOU RISD
