Alumni create illustrated essay collection
Christopher Benson 05 PT and his brother Nick Benson, a stone-carver and 2010 MacArthur Fellow, are co-publishing an illustrated collection of over 85 artists' and artisans' essays.
The collection is titled ART IN THE MAKING – Essays by Artists About What They Do. The book includes essays and works by numerous well-known RISD instructors and outstanding RISD alums.
Christopher Benson says, "This is a terrific collection of informative, often entertaining, personal stories about what making art is all about for the folks who do it. It's an anti-corporate, small press, independent publication from the grass roots of practice in the world of contemporary art and design. We would welcome the support especially of the RISD community, so many of whose members have contributed to this worthy project."
