Establishing a New Centennial: Designs for Advancing Equality
2020 marks the anniversary of women winning the right to vote in public elections in the United States. Including women in the democratic process was a significant step towards fairness, however realizing true equality for all has yet to come.
Through the design process, designers focus on the end-users to solve problems and improve experiences. By addressing different perspectives, design can move us towards a more equitable society.
DesignPhiladelphia is seeking projects, realized or unrealized, that have helped advance equality through the experience of its user. Projects to be considered look to establish a new equitable future. This call is open to all designers. Selected projects from the open call will be exhibited alongside highlights of renowned designers, from both the Philadelphia region and globally, who have historically pushed passed boundaries of limitation.
