"Brooklyn Artists Exhibition"
Brooklyn-based artist, sculptor, and furniture maker, Richard Haining, known for his signature STACKED Collection, has been selected by The Brooklyn Museum to be included in their upcoming Brooklyn Artists Exhibition opening October 4, 2024 (runs through January 26, 2025).
This exhibition kicks off the Brooklyn Museum' s 200th anniversary celebration. Uniting 200 Artists (selected from a pool of over 4000 applications), this major group exhibition show highlights the remarkable creativity and diversity of Brooklyn's populace. As an homage to his NYC home, Richard created the selected Vessel using California Redwood, salvaged from decommissioned NYC Water Towers that formerly graced his city’s skyline. Material destined for the junkyard finds a new purpose in this piece, begging the question ‘How is an object perceived when it has been created from another’s waste?’
