"The Armory Show 2024"
Paige K. Bradley 11 PR has been selected to present the Gramercy International Prize-winning booth at the thirtieth anniversary edition of New York's leading art fair, The Armory Show.
Titled "VERY BEAUTIFUL IMAGES WITH QUITE A BIT OF CONCERNING TEXT LAID OVER THE ARTWORK," this installation stages a conspiratorial encounter with elements like an origami crane, in-development D.A.R.P.A. aircraft models, the “jester’s privilege” meme, modernist poetry, and the 2024 Pantone Color of the Year: Peach Fuzz. Designed to resemble an IRL meme, the exhibit also references legendary New York art dealer Colin de Land’s final presentation for The Armory Show, which featured text directly on the booth walls.
Presented in partnership with the gallery Blade Study, co-directed by Ian Glover 12 IL, the installation explores the critical relationships between source and reproduction, text and image, past and present, as well as craft and technology. A broad array of paintings, photographs, and sculptural elements will be featured, blurring distinctions between original and copy in our digitally mediated economy of images. This new work builds upon the vocabulary established in Paige K. Bradley’s previous solo show at Blade Study, which was named one of the best shows of 2023 by Josh Kline in the December issue of Artforum.
