Annette J. Park BArch 08 received the 2022 Associates Award from her professional organization, the American Institute of Architects, Arizona component (AIA Arizona) in November 2022.

The award honors those who “display exceptional dedication to the community and built environment through service to the community, to the AIA, and in the quality of work performed professionally.”

More about Annette J. Park

Annette J. Park attended RISD as an undergraduate student from 2003–2008, having graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Bachelor of Architecture. She was also involved with RISD Reach under Nathan Andary’s direction; she applied upon entering RISD in 2003. Park cites Peter Tagiuri as the biggest contributor to her growth during her time at RISD.

Upon graduation, Park returned to her hometown in New York, where she lived for the next two years. She moved to Arizona in 2010 to explore new paths of personal and professional growth. Wearing her RISD badge of honor to this new territory, Park has found that her unique trajectory has taken her in paths she would otherwise be unable to conceive herself as both a Korean-American woman and an immigrant. She has developed a love and appreciation for the desert, and grown into a community of artists, architects and everyone in-between. Currently, Park is a practicing designer, on her path toward licensure in architecture, in Phoenix, Arizona. She practices at Holly Street Studio, a Phoenix-based design and architecture firm where designing community and building place is imbued in the heart of the studio.
