Span earns several honors and accolades

Nick Adam MFA 18 GD and Span were celebrated by Communication Arts, GDUSA, and AIGA Communication Arts. 

The November/December issue of Communication Arts opens with an 8-page feature on Span, the innovative design studio led by partners Bud Rodecker, John Pobojewski and Nick Adam. This in-depth article highlights Span's collaborative approach, which fuses strategic insight with dynamic, interactive brand identities across digital, environmental, social, and print platforms. Nine recent projects are showcased, each reflecting Span’s breath of expertise and commitment to impactful storytelling. 

In GDUSA’s 2024 “Responsible Designers” feature, Nick Adam and his partners at Span are recognized for their approach and impact. This honor celebrates Span for leveraging design to drive change, making intentional choices around how, when, why, and for whom they work—underscoring graphic design’s unique power to influence positive transformation. 

Span’s visual identity and environmental design for the 2023 Slow & Low: Chicago Lowrider Festival, led by alum Nick Adam, earned high accolades in AIGA’s prestigious 365 design competition. Selected from entries across 26 countries, the project exemplifies excellence in social relevance and cultural awareness.
