Alum featured in Landscape Architecture Magazine
Kirk Bereuter MLA 01 was recently featured by Landscape Architecture Magazine for his work in hemp farm master plan design.
Kirk is an alumnus of the Kansas City Art Institute, where he focused his talents on the production and study of environmental sculpture, which subsequently led to a master's education in Landscape Architecture at the Rhode Island School of Design. His past work as a senior project manager and staff landscape architect at national design firms has provided him with both national and international design experience in federal/national park, urban design/city area mixed-use, university campus & religious institution campus master-plan, multi-family residential, high-end single-family residential and US embassy compound master-plan design. Some of the recent regional design work he has been involved in has been produced for the National Cathedral, IMF World Headquarters, Monticello Visitor Center, and Indiana University campus master-plan. which have received AIA and ASLA local and national chapter honor & merit awards, DC area award for preservation and SCUP excellence in planning awards.
Within the 20+ years of his design experience, 12 of those years have been within his own small design firm practice (Kirk Bereuter Landscape Architecture, LLC). Most of his firm’s contracted projects have tended to reside within the realm of religious institution, K-12, campus, winery, mixed-use commercial, green roof, as well as multi-family and single-family high-end residential design work. Recently, his most noteworthy and pioneering project work has been within the realm of destination hemp farm master plan design. Kirk was just published within Landscape Architecture Magazine's August 2022 issue, detailing his work for a hemp farm located in northern Virginia. His subsequent hemp farm project has also been placed within online publication World Landscape Architecture's list of featured projects (WLA) at the start of 2023.
