RISD Reunion
May 30–June 2, 2024

Commencement + Reunion Weekend is less than two weeks away. We have been busy putting the final touches on all the activities planned for the weekend. If you are celebrating your reunion this year, we hope you have made your plans and registered for your events

For those not celebrating a reunion year, we welcome you to join us on campus for our family-friendly community events, including RISD Craft, children’s activities, free museum admission, WaterFire and more. These events are free, and most do not require registration. We hope to see you there!

New York Design Week

May 19–21, 2024

RISD is well represented at this year’s New York Design Week. From student work at the Material Opulence booth and alumni-led talks at ICFF/Wanted to shows, exhibitions and more happening during NYCxDesign, we hope you will stop by and see all the RISD community has on view.

Honoring Dorothy W. Ford

Dot Ford is being presented with this year’s RISD President’s Medal of Honor. Ford was the coordinator of RISD’s Minority Affairs/Third World Office from 1973–2000. She is recognized as an advocate for students of color, principles of social equity and inclusion and for the lasting impact she has had on the lives of generations of RISD students.

Help keep RI voter rolls updated

Did you register to vote in Rhode Island while at RISD? You may still be on the state’s voter rolls. Alumni who moved out of state after graduation can check if their record is still active and help keep Rhode Island voter rolls accurate by canceling their voter registration. Please visit to download a cancellation form or contact to receive a form via mail.

RISD Black Alumni Reunion

Thursday, May 30–Sunday, June 2

We hope you will join us as we define a "New Space." Without the resilience of the Black alumni who came before us, we would not be here today. We recognize the labor and discipline it takes to overcome the systematic structures that seek to limit our creative access and advancement. In honoring and acknowledging our Black history at RISD, we seek to redefine and uplift our Black alumni community. Owning our legacy preserves our future.

Collection 2024

May 24, 2024

Seniors in Apparel Design present their final work in Collection 2024, a live runway show at the WaterFire Arts Center in Providence. Tickets are now available for the 5 pm and 8 pm shows.

Shape the Future of the RISD Museum

The museum is currently working on its next strategic plan. This work is vital for setting future priorities and must be completed before the museum's 2025 reaccreditation with the Alliance of American Museums. In this survey, the museum seeks alumni feedback to help guide the museum toward being a place of even more inspiration and learning for all.

RISDmade for Spring

RISDmade is the place for finding handcrafted, unique gifts from hundreds of our alumni artists and designers. Put a spring in someone’s step with something special designed and crafted by a RISD alum.

RISD Makes a Splash at Milan Design Week 2024

Students from seven disciplines brought their joint exhibition, Objects May Shift, to Italy. For many, it was their first introduction to presenting their work on the international design stage, and their booth stood out from the crowd, attracting attention from the press and industry leaders.
