Maureen Baine named as a senior director at Crate and Barrel
Maureen Baine 02 FD is a furniture and interior designer who was named Senior Director of Design for Furniture and Lighting at Crate and Barrel in 2019.
Upon graduation from RISD in 2002, Maureen spent several years in New York City working for a design/build company where she designed and built commercial and residential projects in their local workshop. A Southern California native, she moved back to Los Angeles in 2008 to manage interior and furniture design studios. Maureen helped Kim Salmela launch her globally inspired furniture collection in 2012 which quickly became a success with online giant One King’s Lane.
In 2014, Maureen joined renowned interior designer and lifestyle icon Kelly Wearstler. As Director of Furniture, she was responsible for the launch of Kelly’s eponymous furniture collection, where she grew the collection to over 200 unique, high-end luxury designs. Maureen also managed Kelly’s hospitality, commercial and residential custom furniture projects including the recently launched upscale hotel brand Proper.
In 2019, Maureen left her dream job at Kelly Wearstler to move to Chicago and join the iconic household brand Crate and Barrel. Maureen is currently their Senior Director of Design for Furniture and Lighting. Since joining, she has played an integral role in the brand transformation, breathing a fresh new perspective into their brand identity that you see in Crate and Barrel catalogs today. Through Maureen's extensive experience in luxury high-end furniture and interior design, years of traveling the world working with numerous factories on new product development and gathering inspiration along the way, Maureen has brought this wealth of knowledge to Crate and looks forward to continuing business growth and bringing good design to the masses.
