Elliot Levine 72 FAV (1950–2023)
Elliott Levine, most well known for his paintings of body parts at Trattoria Dell’ Arte commissioned by Milton Glaser, across from Carnegie Deli, and painting the mural of Ebbet’s Field hanging at the Brooklyn Diner on 57th street in Manhattan and died in his Hell’s Kitchen apartment January 15, 2023. He was 72.
His death was caused by kidney failure and kidney cancer complications.

His work is part of private collections of Bill Gates, Sumner Redstone, Mr. & Mrs. Judson P. Reis, Herb Alpert, RISD Museum and His Royal Highness the King of Borneo. Elliott also designed Diana Ross’ wedding to Arne Ness.
Elliott Mark Levine was born in Pittsburgh, PA. His immediate family: father Albert Levine, mother Dorothy Levine, oldest sister Marilyn Levine and younger brother Mike Levine. Elliott went to North Hills High School, then Rhode Island School of Design and then Temple University for his graduate program. He then moved to New York City and began his life as an artist, while studying at the Art Students League under Larry Poons.
While growing up Elliott worked in his family’s grocery store and hated it, worked at an ice cream store for one day and quit, and was in the Boy Scouts and was in charge of lighting camp fires by wrapping newspaper in little twists—which he would always remind his niece Faye about when she would light a fire in her fireplace.
