"Godzelda"
Godzelda Destroys Salinas, a 1950’s monster movie send-up by Dana Larrabee 68 IL, appeared as an illustrated serial feature in the Foolish Times monthly from 2019–2020; and in the 2022-2024 reboot tickling Monterey and Santa Cruz County reader funny bones up and down California’s Central Coast.
Social media posts, T-shirts, Trivial Pursued games for Godzelda swag and Black Bear Diner dinners, as well as signed collectible posters and “Making Of” Godzelda fan’zines helped hype the She-T-Rex’s published exploits. Larrabee also performed old-time radio-style episode read-alouds on Powertalk AM radio, KMBY TV and Radio and on Access Media Productions’ Winslow Art/TV program.
In 2025, Godzelda returns to the Foolish Times in a serial graphic novelized version.
When not doing housework or Godzelda stuff, Larrabee volunteers his photography, copywriting, cartoon and graphics skills towards local veterans causes. His donated Godzelda swag packs are popular bid-on items at Monterey County veterans’ auction fundraisers.
