Glass and graffiti in Germany
For the past two years, Ursula Huth 83 GL and her nephew, graffiti artist Philip Walch, have collaborated in designing for a train station in Tübingen, Germany.
Huth and Walch designed 26 large, fireproof glass panes for the bicycle and car underground parking garage. The work was executed with the help of Peters Studio in Paderborn. The glass is sandblast, acid-etched and enameled. The motifs are quotes from poets who are connected to the city, and there are sole prints of people who are otherwise connected to the project.
Huth writes, "It was very courageous of my commissioners to decide they want art in architecture in this underground garage, and it was a challenge for both. I chose to do this [stone graffiti] project together with someone of the very young generation."
