Alum wins prestigious Loris Malaguzzi International Prize
Enrico Giori BArch 21 is incredibly excited to announce that his children's book “We Want a School! Vogliamo una scuola!” produced during his time at RISD, won the prestigious Premio Letterario Loris Malaguzzi.
In order to celebrate this milestone for “We Want a School! Vogliamo una scuola!” the book, now in its third reprint, is back with updated cover art, and a case study appendix of how a class from New Bedford, MA put its story to use to reimagine school with child agency at its core! And, with educational equity in mind, the book is still available for free.
About the Prize
Now in its fourth edition, the Loris Malaguzzi International Prize aims to celebrate a body of work, rooted in pedagogical research and thinking, which stands out for its sensitivity and attention towards children. In particular, the Prize aims to recognize works that raise questions on education, on the interdisciplinarity of childhood, and on children's rights. The Prize pays particular attention to those works that give a voice to young people to express their point of view and feelings on the world. The Prize also aims to celebrate those works that are the result of historical and/or pedagogical research on Loris Malaguzzi and the experience of the Reggio Emilia Approach®.
