Seed Barn, Milam Plantation, the long-forgotten site where Emmett Till was murdered. On August 28, 2022 hundreds of townspeople attended the first ever commemorative ceremony at the barn.

Alum launches Emmett Till Memory Project

In the works over the past four years, Phase I of the Emmett Till Memory Project (ETMP) has officially launched.

Rene Payne along with a vibrant team of recent RISD alumni and affiliates have been committed to this important national work honoring the Till legacy.

Zoë Pulley MFA 23 GD  and Jonathan Chen 23 SC have outstandingly led the creative and web efforts with the extended team on this assignment through Rene's firm, included by favor. The team launched Phase 1 of the site on Till's birthday.  It is a soft launch because we are still funding the immersive elements and completing the app.
