Book release: "Digital Fabrication in Interior Design"

Lois Weinthal BArch 93 has co-edited a book with Jonathon Anderson about interiors and digital fabrication.

The book includes a chapter by Nader Tehrani BArch 86, whose office designed the North Hall building at RISD.

Digital Fabrication in Interior Design: Body, Object, Enclosure is a new book recently released by Routledge Publishers. The book draws together emerging topics of making that span primary forms of craftsmanship to digital fabrication in order to theoretically and practically analyze the innovative and interdisciplinary relationship between digital fabrication technology and interior design. The book draws upon a range of disciplines including fashion, objects, ceramics, glass and architecture to reveal how digital fabrication is being integrated into the interior.

Weinthal’s practice investigates the relationship between architecture, interiors, clothing and objects, resulting in works that take on an experimental nature. She is a professor of Interior Design at Toronto Metropolitan University and holds the position of Honorary Professor at the Glasgow School of Art and Middlesex University.
