Alum experiments with AI

Aaron "Tango" Tang 02 ID has embraced experimenting with AI (Artificial Intelligence) generative tools since August 2022.

He writes, "Eight months, 100,000+ image creations and 70+ experiments series later, I have learned tons about my identity, society, possibility, the creative process and the future of creativity through this new renaissance of accessible tools.

AI will enable a new world of imagination, reduce labor and extend human creativity, while giving once inaccessible equipment to all to explore and discover with few limitations.

My experiments are in fields I never studied, discovering what I could achieve in hours versus weeks. All were done on my phone, each image taking seconds, but a new process in exploring words to prompt engineering, though I prefer to call it prompt poetry.

This is the fastest developing technology I have seen in my life, faster than the internet, perhaps as powerful as the invention of electricity, and as disruptive as any that will impact every industry.

New classes and creative industries will be born, just as the invention of the printing press, camera, Photoshop, CAD [computer-aided design], manufacturing, YouTube, TikTok, etc. have extended human creativity.

I hope all embrace and try AI without criticizing such a new young tool at such an epic moment in history."

Aaron used OpenAI Dalle 2 and Stable Diffusion to create his images.
