My artistic practice centers around the human figure—its form, its expression, and its relationship to the environments it inhabits. Working across both two- and three-dimensional formats, I primarily draw and paint, using a range of materials including oil paint, pastels, acrylic, charcoal, and Caran d’Ache crayons. These mediums allow me to explore the tactile and expressive possibilities of the figure within complex natural and architectural settings.
At the heart of my work is a love for rendering, in either in color or black and white media— the challenge of capturing light, volume, and space through line, tone and color captivates me. I am deeply inspired by the creative process itself, and each piece is an opportunity to explore media, perspective, and emotional atmosphere. My approach is both intuitive and disciplined; I create daily, whether in fleeting sketches or in artworks that evolve over months or years.
Perspective plays a critical role in my compositions. I enjoy embedding intricate spatial structures into my pieces—drawn from both observation and imagination—to create immersive environments that draw the viewer inward. My goal is to not only depict the figure but to situate it within a world that feels vivid, lived-in, and emotionally resonant. Ultimately, art (and the teaching of it) is a fundamental expression of who I am. Through creating, I process, question, and reflect. I hope my work invites others to step inside these spaces and experience a moment of connection, introspection, or even wonder.
