"Into the Future They Go" (2024)

I created this painting for a group show at World’s Fair Gallery. It was included in the exhibit “NUDE ARCHITECTURE: Women’s Painting Right Now”. My day to day studio practice begins with a process that involves building up layers of acrylic paint that are then peeled, cut, and reincorporated into new forms. While I oscillate between figurative and abstracted subject matter, what connects all of my work is technique, layering and collaging mats of peeled acrylic paint. Alongside showing my work in fine art galleries, I also take on freelance illustration and mural projects. My background in illustration informs every project I take on. I love coming up with narrative structures for my work, whether or not the finished piece is figurative or abstract.
