Having lived the majority of my life exploring the outdoors, I am a person that notices the subtleties of the natural world. My favorite moments are observing, or simply catching a fleeting glimpse, of birds in nature. My paintings are based on memories from specific moments and locations in which I have encountered them. They are explorations as opposed to renderings. With each stroke I am trying to recall how they moved, their physiology, and my emotional connection to them in the moment. Each painting has a specific location which is notated within the painting.
