Crushed aluminum cans capture my interest. They buckle unpredictably yet logically. They are brilliant and radiant, yet expendable. They're on their way out, baled and ready to recycle. And yet, working with photo files of cross-sections of bales can create something to sustain interest. From them I create Photoshop abstractions. Many appear bilateral, to tease the brain into 'recognizing' them as novel life forms that will yield information to process.
