Over the past few months Eli Kauffman 22 Pt has been working on the curation of a group art show at Small Format, centering on the color blue.
There are infinite possibilities to be explored just within one color. Through artistic mediums ranging from cyanotype, painting, and photography, the artists in the show invite you to use blue as a filter for the literal and figurative experiences of a mood, and emotion, and all the moments strung together to create a memory. This show was dreamt out of Eli's obsession with monochrome, and from reading Maggie Nelson's "Bluets", a series of 240 poems about the color blue. "Submerged" opened on August 22, and will be on view through the Fall.
