Alumni win first place in the People's Choice category of the RI Nature Video Festival
Catherine Cressy 69 PT/MAT 73 and Michael Russo 69 SC/BArch 74 graduated from RISD in 1969. There's been plenty of water over the dam since then, but in 1995 they bought a small house, overlooking Pine Swamp in North Scituate, RI. The more they learned about wildlife on the swamp, the closer we grew to its waterfowl, especially migratory Wood Ducks. One thing led to another, and they've now added and maintain 8 Wood Duck Nest Houses on the swamp. And they have also discovered we enjoy making video recordings of the activities of these interesting critters.
This year they decided to submit a seven minute video to the RI Nature Video Festival, and learned their entry received First Place in their People's Choice Award category.
