RISD | Womxn @ Work
We are excited to announce the launch of RISD | Womxn @ Work.*
Led by Equity & Compliance in partnership with Career Services, Human Resources, Institutional Advancement (IA), Intercultural Student Engagement (ISE) and Social Equity and Inclusion (SEI), this new initiative will honor seven exceptional womxn in the RISD community through an exhibition and panel discussion during Women’s History Month in March.
Drawing inspiration from RISD's rich history, RISD | Womxn @ Work will amplify womxn’s voices, fostering discussions about their experiences as professionals, creatives and innovators. Through captivating portraits and storytelling, this project will highlight the remarkable achievements, indomitable spirit and resilience of selected womxn in the RISD community. This initiative will also inclusively acknowledge and celebrate the diverse talent, determination and creativity of RISD womxn.
We need your help to select seven exceptional womxn from the RISD community for this honor! Please self-nominate or nominate those you would like to see featured in RISD | Womxn @ Work using this form no later than Friday, October 27 at 4:30 pm.
If you have questions about the initiative or the nomination form, please email equitycompliance@risd.edu.
*“Womxn” is an intersectional term intended to acknowledge and include folx who have traditionally been excluded from white feminist discourse: Black women, women of color, trans women and non-binary people. We recognize the term “womxn” can be a valid signifier of gender identity for some but also acknowledge that ascribing the term “womxn” to folx without their consent can be problematic.
