Opening Reception: Saturday, April 12, 4–7 pm

Elizabeth Mihaltse Lindy’s work embodies the tension between fragility and strength in the physical, emotional, and spiritual body—particularly the resilience of the female body as a vessel for grief and care. Using her own body as a frame, she casts wet sheets of paper into three-dimensional, elegiac forms that are both delicate and unexpectedly self-supporting. Her process-driven practice unfolds as a ritual, shepherding these paper bodies through cycles of creation and dissolution. The exhibition features a sculptural installation of figurative paper shrouds, as well as photographs and videos.
Elizabeth Mihaltse Lindy (b. 1970) is an interdisciplinary artist whose work has been featured in recent group exhibitions including Paper (Site:Brooklyn Gallery, online), $acred Motherhood (Chicago, IL), and Roots/Wings (Art + Everywhere, MASS MoCA, North Adams, MA). Other exhibition venues include Hudson Valley MOCA (Peekskill, NY), Gallery RAG (Gloucester, MA), The CaMus Museo Camuno (Breno, Italy), MAPSpace (Port Chester, NY), and Collar Works (Troy, NY), among others. Lindy holds a BFA in Graphic Design from Rhode Island School of Design and an MFA in Visual Art from Lesley University College of Art + Design. She currently lives and works in Beacon, NY.
