Selected Akan Proverbs And Their Meaning

Selected Akan Proverbs And Their Meaning has been published under Matey Odonkor's pen name MatéNaté.

Odonkor's thesis was about reviving oral storytelling traditions in Sub-Saharan Africa. Inspired by his thesis work, he started an organization called Yenkassa (Yen-kah-sah) with the goal of collecting first person stories, histories, traditions and customs from older generation Sub-Saharan Africans and share them with the younger generation in ways they can assimilate.

He has since traveled to Ghana, collected stories, edited videos/audio, and shared on various social media sites and Youtube. His organization Yenkassa has achieved some of its major goals by sharing content with content creators around the world including Switzerland, Austria, Germany, United Kingdom, Canada, South Africa, and Ghana. Also, one of their videos on Akan Proverbs was telecast on all major television channels in Ghana.
