Alum co-authors new cookbook

In GATHER & GRAZE (Skyhorse Publishing; June 2, 2024), Mumtaz Mustafa 01 GD and Laura Klynstra share the fruits of their latest and most heartfelt collaboration: a globe-spanning celebration of homemade delights meant for sharing with avid nibblers.

Presenting a feast for the eyes while enticing palates, the authors combine their talent for food styling with more than 175 authentic, innovative, and wonderfully diverse recipes. (Mumtaz, with her fondness of spice, was in charge of recipes cooked on the stove, while Laura, an accomplished baker, handled recipes made in the oven.) The international recipes, both savory and sweet, are organized by region and beautifully served up on platters, showcased on boards, or arranged across tables. Accompanying the striking photos of the mouthwatering spreads, home cooks will find handy make-ahead tips and time savers, inspiring styling ideas, and fascinating morsels of cultural and culinary history, trivia, and lore. Food brings people together. Whether it's friends or family, even strangers, the best place to be is often sitting around a dinner table. Two women exemplify that in every way, pulling two very different cultures together and finding their common love with their new cookbook, "Gather & Graze."

"Gather & Graze: Globally Inspired Small Bites and Gorgeous Table Scapes for Every Occasion" is a vibrant testament to the power of cross-cultural friendships in deepening the understanding of the world. Authors Mumtaz Mustafa and Laura Klynstra celebrate the unity and comfort of a meal prepared slowly with love and attention, providing a path and a place for people to connect, exchange stories, and try new flavors.
