Alum publishes new novel

Diane Lennea, under the pen name Zana K. Elin, recently published, You Got No Guts: Vision Quest for Nontoxic Schools.

This cautionary tale delicately uses humor to diffuse the heaviness and serious nature of bullying through the epic adventure of Ms. Fly, a courageous teacher who works to protect her school environment and create a haven for education free from toxicity. With increasing hostilities in workplaces and schools, bullying, school violence and teacher shortages, the topic of removing bullying from the nation’s schools is more relevant today than ever before.

Created as a multimedia work of art in the form of a lesson plan, the book educates the reader, sparks the imagination and engages emotions with critical analysis of contemporary culture, music, poetry and visuals. The reader is invited at the end of each chapter to participate in interactive activities for reflection and exploration of topics within the blank pages provided, such as writing about a personal scenario, tearing out or crumpling up the pages. These topic questions are perfect for Book Clubs and discussion starters. The artwork was created by the author’s daughter and there is also a FREE Spotify “No Guts Power Playlist” designed to reflect the book’s storyline in chronological order.
