Are you Interested in honing your food writing skills while experiencing life in the Japanese countryside? Join hosts Hannah Kirshner 06 PT (author of "Water, Wood & Wild Things: Learning Craft and Cultivation in a Japanese Mountain Town") and Clarissa Wei (author of "Made in Taiwan: Recipes and Stories From The Island Nation") plus special guest Bryan Washington (author of "Memorial" and "Family Meal") in Yamanaka Onsen this September. 

This 5-night, 4-day retreat, “What is a Recipe For,” will explore the craft and ethics of recipe-writing (and their application to all kinds of good writing) through lectures, activities, and 1-on-1 office hours in the open-air kitchen of Hannah’s 100-year-old farmhouse. We’ll also interact will local foodways through a cooking class, tea ceremony and guided town tour.
