The Eliot School of Fine & Applied Arts is proud to announce Alison Croney Moses as its new Associate Director.

Croney Moses is an artist, craftsperson, educator, arts administrator, and mother of two lovely children. She focuses on empowering youth and adults to use their knowledge, skills, and experiences to make positive change in the world around them through art. Croney Moses began working in 2013 as a woodworking teacher in the Eliot School’s Partnership Program with Boston Public Schools and advanced to the role of Program Director. During the past eight years, she has been integral in developing signature programs like Teen Bridge, Artist in Residence, and professional development workshops. These programs have won recognition and grant support from the National Endowment for the Arts, EdVestors, the Linde Family Foundation, and other funders. At the Eliot School, she has cultivated spaces of learning, making and sharing of art, craft, and design that are welcoming and nurturing of diverse identities.

In addition to her work at the school, Croney Moses represents the Eliot School as a stakeholder for the African American Craft Initiative at the Smithsonian Center for Folk Life & Cultural Heritage. As an active member of the craft world, she co-facilitates a peer learning group, “Racial Equity in Craft,” in conjunction with representatives from the American Craft Council, Glass Arts Society, and Snow Farm: The New England Craft Program.
