Club of Rhode Island Newport Island Cemetery & John Stevens Shop Meetup
The Club of Rhode Island invites you to an afternoon of history, art, and community in Newport. We will meet at the Newport Island Cemetery, where grounds manager Frank Amaral, 81 LA, will give a brief overview of the historic cemetery. Afterwards, alumni are welcome to wander, sketch, photograph, and enjoy the serene setting.
Following our cemetery tour, Nick Benson HD 24, of the renowned John Stevens Shop, will open the doors of his historic workshop, offering a unique opportunity to experience its deep craft traditions with strong ties to RISD, following in the footsteps of his father, John Everett Benson 61 SC HD 85.
We’ll end the evening at Parlor Bar & Kitchen, where we can gather for refreshments, conversation, and connection.
