I am finishing my second bachelor's degree in Marine Biology at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa while working on various projects and side jobs. Over the past year, I started working as a professional vendor and attended five events, which helped me get more involved in the art, crafts, and science communities and I wish to continue participating at more fairs and events nationwide. Since moving to Hawaiʻi, I have found a connection between art and marine biology and have had many opportunities to work toward my goal of becoming a science communicator, educator, and designer.
Some highlights include receiving an Ocean Conservation Award from the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa, designing logos for local non-profits to raise awareness about the dangers of illegally dumping marine aquaria into Hawaiian waters, and my current role as a science communicator and graphic designer with the University of Hawaiʻi Sea Grant. I hope to continue combining my love for the ocean, art, and design here on Oʻahu and to share this passion with others who feel the same way.
