Alum receives 2025 Maxwell/Hanrahan Award in Craft

This past May, R & Company announced that Jolie Ngo has been named a recipient of the distinguished Maxwell/Hanrahan Awards in Craft, administered by United States Artists. The Maxwell/Hanrahan Foundation recognizes five awardees every year for their unique and visionary approach to a material-based practice, their stewardship of cultural traditions, and their ability to connect people, places, and ideas via craft. This year, the prize recognizes Ngo’s groundbreaking contribution to contemporary ceramics and design, marking a significant milestone in the artist's remarkable career.

Ngo has redefined the boundaries of ceramic art through a dynamic fusion of digital technology and craft. Her inventive practice has earned her notable accolades, including the The Peter S. Reed Grant for Mixed Media/Sculpture in 2022 and invitations to prestigious residency and teaching programs, including the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Haystack School of Craft, and Anderson Ranch Arts Center, where she will return this summer for the second time in her budding career.
