For the past 10 years, I've been trying my best to adapt my work to the needs of my clients and have lost sight of what my work looks like when it's created entirely of my own preferences. Mandeep's Cloudy Days was the last commercial project I took part in before deciding to take a break. The full time work I did for Pilot/Yellowfly studio in Boston was usually extremely clean, so this book contract was a nice opportunity to go a bit looser with my mark-making. I am now an RN, working in the hospital by day and slowly rediscovering what initially drew me to illustration in whatever time I have off.
